UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor will be heading to NYC in November but it will not be to defend his featherweight title. McGregor will be going up to 155lbs to challenge lightweight champion and former Bellator standout Eddie Alvarez. McGregor heads into this fight to become the first ever simultaneous two weight class world champion in the promotion’s history. This title fight joins the two additional title fights that were confirmed during Saturday’s UFC Fight Night card. The additional title fights are Tyron Woodley v.s Stephen Thompson for the welterweight title and Joanna Jedrzejczyk v.s. Karolina Kowalkiewicz for the women’s strawweight title.

Look for fireworks later today as McGregor joins his opponent Eddie Alvarez along with Tyron Woodley and Joanna Jedrzejczyk for the UFC 205 press conference which you can watch here at 6pm ET.

Tickets for the UFC’s NYC debut go on sale this Friday.
