The Wachowskis’ next big hit?

The Wachowskis have always been known for productions with fantastic visuals set in worlds just different enough from our own to be fantastic. There is always that little “what if” that makes the viewer feel like this could actually happen in real life. It looks like they are set to do it again as they prepare to bring us Jupiter Ascending next summer. Produced and directed by the siblings and co-produced by Grant Hill who has worked with them on Speed Racer and Cloud Atlas, this new film centers on Jupiter Jones, played by Mila Kunis. It seems that Jones is getting the classic “Meg Griffin” treatment until one day ex-military hunter Caine (Channing Tatum) comes into her life in time to save it. While Jupiter may be a lowly janitor on Earth, elsewhere she may have a destiny big enough to change the entire universe. The trailer looks very promising and the story seems grand enough that it could either be one of the biggest sci-fi action hits of 2014 and/or be the start of a new Wachowski trilogy. Tatum and Kunis have been in some successful flicks lately, so I am hoping for big things from them. Setting all controversy aside, I am hoping for a great movie from the Wachowskis.
