So, I open my mailbox today and get a trailer for Megalo Polis. My jaw dropped because I don’t know what to make of this. As an RTS, it looks like a whole lot of fun, but I cannot formulate any opinions on the content because I do not want to turn R.A.G.E. Works into some political circus. This game may be satirical, but you play as the real Barack Obama, Hilary Rodham Clinton and Donald Trump traveling the country. The obvious aim is to become President of the United States of America. In Barack’s case, the aim is to ignore the twenty-second amendment and get elected for a third term.

Megalo Polis - character select

Megalo Polis is currently available for Early Access on Steam. If you purchase it before March 4, it is $12.59 (regular $13.99). Please have at this game and give me your thoughts because (opinion-wise) I am not touching this game with a ten-foot pole!

  • It’s like you said, “A political statement is being made.” That is the reason why I am not big on covering this title. First is the fact that reviewing the gameplay would be difficult without talking about the characters. I do not want it to look like R.A.G.E. Works or myself personally are pushing their political agenda.

I bought the game and this is quite ok.
I dont like the designs at all, gameplay is quite empty and can be repeting itself.
Trump is mean and Obama is charismatic so there is clearly a political statement from the Studio.

It’s early access, so I guess it’s hard to make up one’s mind on the game yet. Still, it lacks several months of development, of maturation even, strange for a game that took (words of the studio’s Game Designer, former Ubisoft employee) 15 years to mature. I’ve been looking for tests, video footage or commentary but seems like nobody is interested in giving the game a try to give professional and serious feedback.
