“Rowdy” Ronda Rousey is the best female fighter in the world period and it’s not even remotely close. Her fight with Sara McMann was supposed to be the toughest of her career and it lasted less than a round again with Rousey getting the stoppage with a knee to the liver. The stoppage was a bit early for me, but I feel Rousey would have still won. McMann deserved a chance to at least attempt to recover but that doesn’t change the fact that Rousey showed an improvement in her striking. She is still very hit-able which could be a bit of an issue if she ever actually fights Cyborg, but we will cross that bridge if we ever get there. But for now, all hail your MMA Queen.
- So Cormier looked really good at 205, albeit against a clearly over-matched opponent. I want to see how he does against a Top 10 guy before just throwing him in there against Bones.
- Rory MacDonald looked good against Demian Maia. With GSP gone, there is a good chance he could eventually be champion.
- Mike Pyle damn near killed TJ Waldburger! That was violence personified.
- Stephen Thompson put on a clinic. I don’t know how he does against the top fighters in the division, but he looked good.
