Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.[/toggle] [/toggles]

As more and more information came to light about Josh Trank's vision for the Fantastic Four the less inclined I was to see the film. While the change in ethnicity for the Human Torch was unexpected I truly had more issue with the origin being altered and Doom's entire background being retconned. Dr. Doom is one of the Fantastic Four's most iconic villains and while some change is expected I surely did not expect Victor Von Doom to become Victor Domashev and for him to be a hacker instead of a scientist. I enjoyed Trank's work on Chronicle and I want to give Fantastic Four a shot but seeing Marvel not even supporting this and cancelling the Fantastic Four book is definitely not a good sign. We'll how it comes together via other trailers and if fans will embrace all the dramatic changes. August 7th is judgement day for Marvel's first family.
