1st Impression:
Wolverine has been a Marvel mainstay for as far back as I can remember but his solo box office outings have never really done the character justice. Logan seems to be working towards undoing a lot of that damage with a more mature approach and a mature story. While the comic book purist in me feels that X-23 being in the film is a huge gamble I am enjoying the dynamic her and Logan have. Keeping Patrick Stewart in the mix as Professor X is a great touch and will definitely make for some great exchanges as Jackman and Stewart have such great chemistry going back to the older X-Men films. Deadpool's success at the box office was proof that a well done R-rated comic film can succeed and as much as toy companies hate to admit it Wolverine is about as R-rated a character as it gets. We won't have to wait long to see if Logan's final chapter will truly be final or if Marvel steps in and makes Jackman an offer he can't refuse.
