1st Impression:
Disney continues the strategy of bringing their live-action films to life, and while the results have been mixed with audiences, Disney is doubling down on this approach.

Mulan is the next film receiving a live-action Disney treatment and will leverage the animated feature's 22nd anniversary when it hits theaters. While Mulan is not a personal favorite of mine, I feel it is a film that can benefit from the live-action retelling, especially when it comes to the fight scenes. The fight choreography in the teaser is something I am curious to see Disney pull off and with such luminaries like Donnie Yen and Jet Li I am sure their expertise will surely be an asset behind the scenes.

The film showcases a more serious tone, so I am curious to see if we will see Mushu in the movie although it has been reported that Eddie Murphy was offered the Mushu role in the live-action film but declined. If they do opt to include the character in the live-action movie, I think Kevin Hart would be a fitting replacement for Murphy. If they can do Abu, Iago, and Rajah in Aladdin, then Mushu shouldn't be a problem. Maybe we'll see more in other trailers, but for now, we can only speculate.

Mulan does not hit theaters till next Spring, so I am sure we'll have plenty of trailers to check out. What did you think of the teaser? Did you like the animated version of the film? Let us know in the comments.
