The FX Network’s fan-favorite Archer has been renewed for a fourth season and I can already hear Archer, Cheryl, Lana and Pam saying a unified “Duh!” while giving a blank stare. That of course would be followed by Cheryl saying something to the effect of “Wait, what are we talking about?” Even before looking at the ratings or the DVD and Blu-Ray sales, one only need look at the crowds that flock to see the Archer panel at last year’s San Diego and New York Comic-Cons. The ISIS crew is one of the hottest dysfunctional TV families of the decade and I believe the show is not going anywhere anytime soon.
Aside from ensuring that fans will enjoy ISIS hijinks in 2013, FX has also signed a two-year production deal with series creators Matt Thompson and Adam Reed. So aside from Archer, FX will air original content from the Floyd County Production company, which also provides FX with the (as yet not renewed) animated show, Unsupervised. I look forward to seeing what else comes from the minds behind classic shows like Sealab 2021 and Frisky Dingo.
