Dead Cells Comes to Consoles This Year

Dead Cells, a popular game for Nintendo Switch and Xbox One consoles released this year.

I wanted to put “finally” in the article title as Dead Cells has been available on Steam since May of last year. However, I did not want ot be that guy today and there is the fact that Dead Cells at that time and even today is still in Early Access status on Steam. Regardless, this is fantastic news. Imagine a roguelite game that is both a Metroidvania-style platformer and has the punishing difficulty of a Souls title. OK, I know it has been done before, but so what! This game is awesome.

Dead Cells - hero

You have heard the tired old adage from villains over and over: “you're already dead.” Well, this hero actually IS dead. The cells that make up this body simply refuse to rest. What's more, they retain the memories and abilities of the previous life. What does that mean to you?

  • You will die. Often. Repeatedly.
  • Upgrades to your character are permanent
  • Take a different path if the last one lead to a gruesome death
  • Kill, die, learn repeat

As of now, Motion Twin is only announcing that Dead Cells is coming to PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Expect the launch date to coincide with the day the game comes out of Steam Early Access and gets its version 1.0 update. You can bet that R.A.G.E. Works will let you know when that is. This will be a must buy for Switch owners.
