My Take Radio’s 31 Days of Horror: Bram Stoker’s Dracula

Bram_Stoker_s_Dracula_(1992)

Before the Twilight era of sparkly vampires there was a time when Vampires were portrayed not as shiny Abercrombie & Fitch models but as predators with never-ending blood lust and a voracious sexual appetite. Francis Ford Coppola’s interpretation of Bram Stoker’s classic is without a doubt a one of the better horror remakes I’ve seen. Stellar casting was of this films strong points with Gary Oldman leading the charge and even Keanu Reeves bring his A-game. This interpretation never tried to encroach on the standard set by the legendary Bela Lugosi but instead carved its own niche amongst horror fans. A welcome addition to any horror fans collection and legit must see interpretation.

A very disturbing scene that was well done and showed the level of depravity to which Dracula would sink. Reeves screaming like a lunatic and the devilish grin from Oldman made this scene that much more powerful.
