Slick’s Nit-Picks: Archer, Episode 204 – “Pipeline Fever”

So, you’ve had a hole drilled in your head, had to thwart your mother’s attempts to sell off your job and are now the father of a bastard child you know isn’t yours (despite test results). This is the definition of batting a thousand. If you cannot see the sarcasm in that statement, then you are even more dense than Archer and you deserve all the awful crap that happens to you, just like he does. Ya gotta love the irony of the above picture: an idiot that keeps going on and on about his love for the movie Gator.

I think one would have to take lessons to be this stupid

You know how the first rule of Fight Club is you do not talk about Fight Club? Well, the first rule of being a spy has got to be that you do not stand up on a 747 with a sawed off shotgun telling everyone on board that you are a secret agent and the name of the agency you work for. This week’s episode has Isis on a go green trend, making changes in the office and sending Sterling and Lana to Louisiana to protect a pipeline in the swamp from an eco terrorist. Problem is, the only person who gives a crap about the environment is Lana. Malory just wants the tax breaks from being an eco friendly office and Sterling only cares about living out his Burt Reynolds fantasies.

Tonight’s episode featured a little bit of bonding between Archer and Lana, supporting my theory that they are gonna wind up back together. Other than that, this was pretty much a filler episode. It was funny, but not as funny as earlier eps this season. The Isis Foundation really is a team and when you split them up you get a less funny episode. Despite this being a cartoon, it does have a solid plot that it follows and “Pipeline Fever” mostly ignored that. Far from terrible because it had classic Archer stupidity, but I am hoping for more next Thursday.

I really didn’t have much to say on this ep; finished it before My Take Radio ep 79 got into swing.
