Exactly two weeks and roughly two hours remain before the relaunch of Grand Theft Auto on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. Excitement is at a fever pitch as many will get their first taste of Los Santos insanity. If you have been living under a rock for thirteen or more years, you know that aside from the sheer madness of Rockstar Games’ biggest franchise, music is what makes GTA truly memorable. Whether you chose to “Take It To the Limit” atop Kenji’s Casino, or enjoyed “Juicy Fruit” while rolling through Little Haiti, music is what helped make this series great.

To commemorate the relaunch of GTA V, Rockstar is also re-releasing “The Music of Grand Theft Auto V,” with 59 tracks from the game. Available in limited runs on either CD or vinyl, the set will include a full color art book, and a lithograph poster. The CD set will also include a special gold bar-shaped USB drive. We have yet to find out the capacity of the USB drive or exactly what tracks will be included in this set. We know that it will feature many of the new tracks added to the new version but just like the version released last year, it does not look like it will have all of the music included in the game. Why Rockstar has chosen to take this direction is beyond me as I would jump on a full soundtrack. To this day, I still listen to the soundtracks for Grand Theft Auto Vice City and San Andreas and I really hope that Rockstar puts out a full version at some point. Even without all of the music of Los Santos and Blaine County, The Music of Grand Theft Auto V is shaping up to be a fantastic collector’s piece. As more details surface, we will keep you updated.
