Nintendo has been making money hand over fist with their NES and Super NES mini-consoles and while other companies have released their own consoles the success rate for them has been nothing like what Nintendo has done. Sony is getting in on the nostalgia with the announcement of the PlayStation Classic console. The PlayStation Classic will come pre-loaded with 20 classic PlayStation hits including fan favorites like Final Fantasy VII, Jumping Flash, Ridge Racer Type 4, Tekken 3, and Wild Arms.
The mini console will have all the bells and whistles of a classic PlayStation while being 45% smaller. Pre-orders for the console are now open for US and Canadian residents. The PlayStation Classic will include an HDMI cable, USB cable and two controllers. It does not include an AC adapter which is a bit weird. Gamers will have to purchase an AC adapter separately but you can power the console via any active USB port with the included USB cable.
The PlayStation Classic will cost $99.99 USD (MSRP)/ $129.99 CAN (MSRP) and will be released on December 3rd. Just in time for the holiday season.
