Space Hulk: Deathwing Looks to Honey Badger Doom

Warhammer 40,000 - Space Hulk: Deathwing - gameplay first look.

Space Hulk: Deathwing is Games Workshop's latest foray into their Warhammer 40,000 universe. Unlike recent RTS release Battlefleet Gothic: Armada, this is an FPS title based upon the Space Hulk tabeltop game. Developed by Streum On Studio, you might think that the game looks a lot like a lot of other IPs. As you explore the different space hulks, you will notice that your armor might remind you of the Fallout series. The way damage is localized to different parts of your armor will even remind you of the V.A.T.S. system from that game. Your enemies, the Genestealers will remind you of xenomorphs from Aliens and some are even weapon-toting nasties that will remind you of playing Doom. Put all that together with the Unreal 4 engine and you have a damn fine looking game. Space Hulk: Deathwing gives you an ability that many Fallout fans have wanted for ages that being the ability to team up with friends. Said ability gives you something that Doom players never seem to have: a chance in hell. The trailer shows an early build of the game and we as yet have no release date, but this game looks very promising. Stay tuned for more info.

Space Hulk: Deathwing is set to launch on PC sometime in 2016.
