‘The Occupation’ Begins Next Week

We have all had a gaming moment where we think to ourselves “I wish I had not done that.” As a result of your actions, you died, missed a bonus or whatever. White Paper Games wants you to think on your feet in their new title, The Occupation. You will need to adjust your play to make up for missteps if you are to reach your goal. Best of all, you will need to do it quickly because The Occupation runs in real time. Five minutes of real time equals five minutes passing in-game.

The Setting for The Occupation

It's 1987 in North West England; A time of 80's British pop, grand architecture and political unrest. An explosion has triggered a controversial act which threatens to erode civil liberties of the population to be rushed into place. You are tasked with investigating and questioning people on their actions from a tumultuous night which resulted in the loss of many lives. Each person has a different account of the night's event and you must use the tools at your disposal to get the results you need for your investigation.

First of all, how you approach The Occupation will determine your in-game experience. Will you take the most direct route and probably be caught in the process? Or will you plan your approach carefully while precious time ticks by? You will certainly want to find a healthy medium, but will that work in your favor? Events happen in real-time and you must make decisions based on the evidence. You are the reporter. You decide the narrative.

The Occupation is a first-person, fixed-time, investigative thriller. The setting is Northwest England on October 24th, 1987. You play an investigative journalist in a detailed, systems-driven world where people react to your actions. Time is not on your side; keep moving because it certainly will. Begin your investigation on PC via Steam, PS4 or Xbox One this Tuesday, March 5th.
