1st Impression: At a glance, Ready or Not leverages a premise seen in countless horror films where a normal person marries into a crazy family with some sort of dark and sinister secret yet this film manages to try a different approach to deliver the horror and suspense. The use of hide and seek as the driving force for the craziness is something I have not seen recently in any horror film yet it in a crazy way it actually works and more importantly has interested in seeing the film.
I think Ready or Not is one of those films that will go under the radar and become a cult favorite much like Cabin in the Woods and the recent Happy Death Day films. I feel that by not taking itself seriously yet adding a bit of gore and humor the film has a chance to find an audience. The concept definitely got our attention for sure.
