After her great work in Hanna its great to see Saoirse Ronan getting some more diverse roles. While Byzantium is not your run of the mill vampire film it does have a different type of story. While it’s not like Let The Right One In it does borrow from it a bit and seeing Interview With a Vampire cited on the poster I am sure there are plenty of elements borrowed from that film as well. Neil Jordan’s approach to Interview With a Vampire was a great homage to the book so I hope this film is of that same caliber. I do feel this film would have benefited better from a fall release due to the heavy summer blockbuster schedule.
