1st Impression: When it comes to horror films the crew at Blumhouse seem to have an endless supply and Ma looks like another solid addition to their catalog. Seeing Octavia Spencer in this type of a film surprised me but I was impressed with how well she can turn on the crazy switch and while we’ve seen the well-meaning stranger turn psychopath trope before I really like the approach this film is taking with it. Ma looks like a fun over the top the horror film that will probably do well. I’m definitely intrigued to see more of Octavia Spencer’s Sue Ann as she looks like she’s having a blast with the role.
