1st Impression: Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson are reunited once more and this time they’re trading their Asgardian weaponry for black suits, shades, and big guns and Liam Neeson is coming along for the ride. This soft reboot of the Men in Black series showcases a new MIB London office and continues its mix of comedy and sci-fi but with F. Gary Gray at the helm, you can expect it to showcase a lot more action sequences than earlier MIB films. If you watched Fate of the Furious you know exactly what I’m talking about.
Did the world need another Men in Black film? I would like to say no but the trailer definitely had some cool effects and moments. Will Hemsworth and Thompson be able to have as good a dynamic as Smith and Jones? It is possible given Hemsworth’s decent comedic chops but will that be enough to make the film a summer blockbuster? I guess we’ll see in June.
