Plot Synopsis: It’s been four years since the incident from the first film and Jurassic World sits abandoned with the dinosaurs roaming free. Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) return to the abandoned island to rescue the surviving dinosaurs including Owen’s lead raptor Blue from extinction after a dormant volcano reawakens.
1st Impression: Jurassic World course corrected the Jurassic Park franchise after two subpar sequels and took the film back to its original roots of having the dinosaurs be the stars of the film with their human co-stars. The new sequel continues its subtle and not so subtle callbacks to the original film with the original film’s T-Rex once again playing a role in the story plus the return of BD Wong and Jeff Goldblum’s memorable Dr. Ian Malcom. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom has all the makings of a solid summer movie season kick-off film. We’ll find out in June if the sequel surpasses the predecessor or if the sequel curse strikes the franchise once again.
