1st Impression: The latest D23 trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was nice mix of nostalgia coupled with some surprising reveals including a dual folding Darth Maul style lightsaber being wielded by Rey. While the involvement of the Emperor was the biggest reveal from the last trailer I think this new reveal with Rey is far more shocking. Are we seeing a clone or maybe Rey embracing the dark side or perhaps it’s a hallucination or illusion? There are a lot of theories for sure but overall this new teaser from Disney made me more excited for the final film in this new trilogy.
