Mobile payment solutions continue to be split across Google Pay, Samsung Pay and Apple Pay but Apple continues to make a compelling case for adoption across the country in part to its acceptance at some the country's leading retailers. As of today Apple Pay is now accepted at seventy four of the top 100 US merchants. 65% of all retail locations across the country now support Apple Pay.

The latest merchants announced today are Target, Taco Bell, Hy-Vee Supermarkets, Speedway convenience stores and Jack in the Box.
They join Costco, CVS, and 7-Eleven as the latest retailers to adopt Apple's contactless payment system.

“Whether customers are buying everyday household items, groceries, snacks for a road trip or grabbing a quick meal, Apple Pay is the easiest way to pay in stores, while also being secure and faster than using a credit or debit card at the register,” said Jennifer Bailey, Apple’s vice president of Internet Services. “We’re thrilled even more customers will be able to pay at their favorite stores and restaurants using the Apple devices that are always with them.”

Apply Pay is now rolling out at local Target stores and should be available across all 1,850 locations within the next few weeks. The other retailers including Hy-Vee and Speedway will start seeing Apple Pay integration starting today with a complete rollout over the next few months.
