During last night's game awards we learned that Marvel Ultimate Alliance would be returning to consoles, unfortunately, PlayStation and Xbox owners will miss out since the upcoming title is a Nintendo Switch exclusive.
Gamers will have an assortment of Marvel heroes to choose from including the Avengers, X-Men, Guardians of the Galaxy and more that have yet to be announced. The mission of these unified heroes will be to stop Thanos and his Black Order from acquiring the Infinity Stones. The plot mirror's the Infinity comic book arc that also influenced Avengers: Infinity War.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order will offer single and multiplayer game modes as well as online (Nintendo Switch Online membership required), offline via local wireless, or simply pass a Joy-Con controller to a friend, so they can join your team. With another pair of Joy-Con™ controllers (sold separately), four players can team up on one system!
While some fans may balk at the Xbox and PlayStation being left out it shows that publishers believe in Nintendo's console and are willing to bring their IPs to this audience. There is always a chance we may see the title on Xbox and PlayStation at a later time but that's just wishful thinking on our part since exclusivity is the name of the game during this console war.
