Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver will still be going at full steam up to the release of the new Pokémon titles: Black & White, hitting stores March 6, 2011. Three legendary Pokémon, namely Entei, Raikou and Suicune will be made available to the public via GameStop, so you can stop driving yourself crazy chasing them all over the Johto region. Make note of the following dates and don’t miss the special release of:

  • Raikou – January 3-9, 2011
  • Entei – January 17-23, 2011
  • Suicune – January 31-February 6, 2011

Each period well get you a shiny version of the above pocket monster and each will know special moves like ExtremeSpeed and a type-specific move they would not normally learn. Raikou learns Weather Ball, Entei learns Flare Blitz and Suicune learns Sheer Cold. Each will also come with a classic ribbon and be presented to you in a Cherish Ball.

Now HeartGold & SoulSilver have been out for a while now and one might say, “who cares? I already caught all three of them.” The true value of the trio comes with the new Pokémon Black & White titles, as you can only catch the ultra rare Zoroark if you have transferred ALL THREE of these shiny legends over to your copy of Pokémon Black or White.

The good news is that those who may have skipped the remakes are not left out. Anyone with a copy of Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold or SoulSilver (American versions only) will be able to download the trio to each of your cartridges. If you have more than one game, get it for each one! The requirements are that you have a DS, one of the above mentioned games, and the cartridge must have no more than two Wonder Cards on it.
