1st Impression: Fans have been clamoring for Mile Morales to get a bigger stage and they are getting their wish thanks to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. This newly announced animated film has some stellar visuals and I hope the story is equally impressive.
If you’re not familiar with Miles Morales and his adventures as Spider-Man I recommend picking up some Ultimate Spider-Man books and learning about the young man who took over Peter Parker’s mantle in the Ultimate universe. Miles success as Spider-Man in the Ultimate universe resulted in him becoming part of mainstream Marvel continuity and like Miles said in the trailer: “how many of us are there?” The Spider-Verse arc that passed recently shed some light on that and introduced us to a variety of web-swinging heroes from across Marvel’s multiverse who united to stop a threat that threatened all the Spider-Men and Women. It has been rumored that elements of that arc may be the centerpiece of this film and I for one cannot wait to see if that is true. Let’s hope we see Spider-Gwen on the big screen alongside Miles.
