2K and Tiger Woods announced a long-term partnership.

2K & Tiger Woods Establish Long-term Partnership

While Tiger Woods golf future is currently in limbo due to his recent car accident, his virtual golf future is looking bright as 2K announced today that they have entered into a long-term partnership with the golf legend securing his likeness in 2K golf titles for the foreseeable future.

“I am looking forward to making my return to the video game landscape, and with 2K and HB Studios, I’ve found the right partners to make it happen,” said Tiger Woods in January. “I’m honored to take part in this opportunity and look forward to sharing my expertise and insights as we build the future of golf video games together.”

Woods’ partnership with 2K includes rights for his name and likeness to appear exclusively in the PGA TOUR 2K franchise and any other golf games published by 2K during the partnership term. Woods will play an active role in the video game landscape as an Executive Director and consultant with PGA TOUR 2K, while 2K will also partner with Woods’ TGR Foundation, which provides award-winning STEM curricula and college-access programs to offer underserved students the tools needed to thrive in school and beyond.

In addition to the partnership with Tiger Woods, 2K will be acquiring HB Studios Multimedia Ltd., which developed the successful PGA Tour 2K21 game and The Golf Club franchise. The acquisition is expected to be finalized within the first quarter of 2021. PGA Tour 2K21 sold nearly two million units to date and has earned plenty of praise thanks in part to its simulation experience and usage of licensed PGA Tour professionals, courses and gear.

2K continues to strengthen their sports catalog, and the partnership with Tiger Woods will pay dividends when it comes to the PGA Tour series.
