Cates & Stegman Bid Farewell To Venom

When it comes to Venom, a shortlist of talent has truly taken Eddie Brock and his symbiote beyond being an anti-hero and sometimes nemesis for Spider-Man. Still, none have reinvented every aspect of Venom like Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman. Cates and Stegman took everything we knew about Eddie Brock and his symbiote and took it into a completely new and unique direction which resulted in some seismic shifts in the Marvel Universe as we know it. From Absolute Carnage to the King in Black, Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman crafted layers upon layers of storytelling for the symbiote, with Venom being the centerpiece of the story. With Venom #200 arriving on comic store shelves tomorrow, Cates and Stegman got in front of the camera to give Venom a proper send-off.

“We’re gonna end this run the way that we started it – by exploding everything you ever thought that you knew, and setting the stage for something that’s truly and honestly going to change Eddie and the Marvel Universe forever,” Cates said.

“We’ve got some of the coolest images in the series coming up in 200,” Stegman promises. “If you thought that Venom with a battle axe with a star field on his costume with glowing eyes was crazy, you haven’t seen much yet.”
