Samsung's Unpacked event has come and gone and once again Samsung impressed with their newly announced Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and its larger sibling the 10+. Both Note devices come with brighter and more vibrant displays. Much like the S10, the Note has an edge to edge screen with a hole punch front-facing camera and a fingerprint reader under the screen. Speaking of cameras the Note 10 comes with a vertical triple-lens setup consisting of a 12MP wide-angle, 12MP telephoto and a 16MP ultra-wide lens which opens up a wealth of possibilities for both photo and video.

Focus adjustment on video will lead to some amazing bokeh shots.

Sadly in order to keep the Note slim and trim Samsung opted to eliminate the headphone jack which has divided some fans while others could care less. I personally would have liked a headphone jack for those instances when your Bluetooth headphones need to charge.

Galaxy Note 10 & 10+ color options.

While the Note 10 and 10+ have many similarities the Note 10+ does have a few standout features that its smaller sibling lacks. The 10+ has ana additional camera called a Depthvision camera that allows for 3D rendering. It also includes expandable storage via microSD which the smaller Note 10 does not. Note 10 users will have a choice of 256GB or 512GB storage options.

The rise of 5G was addressed during today's presentation and Samsung is ready for it with the announcement of a 5G compatible Note 10+. While it is good to see Samsung ready to embrace 5G I honestly feel we are still about a year away from 5G being a carrier standard.

So how much will these new toys cost? Note 10 pricing will start at $950 and the 10+ will start at $1,100. Buyers will have plenty of color choices as well with the Aura Glow color capturing a lot of attention at the Unpacked event. Pre-orders for both the Note 10, 10+ and 10+ 5G start today with an August 22nd release date. Make sure to check with your carrier as release dates may change.

As is the case with new device releases retailers will have special incentives if you purchase directly through them or do your carrier upgrade through them. Sam's Club is running a pre-order promotion worth checking out.
