COVID-19 may have hurt the comic conventions across the country but it is not stopping companies and brands from holding their own events and fan-friendly experiences. Our friends at Mezco have been making the most of these last few months with their great exclusives and fan events and Mezco Con is no exception. Mezco Con's fall edition may have come and gone but the latest Gomez boxset aptly titled the Bodega Box is a true homage to NYC and debuts the new Hazard Squad Commander Gomez figure and host of extras. Let's breakdown everything you'll get. Note that everything shown in this piece is based on a prototype and that the final product that heads to collectors may vary somewhat.
Each Mezco Con Bodega-Box: Summer Edition will contain:
Hazard Squad Commander Comic Booklet – meet the squad! This miniature comic features Gomez and the rest of the Hazard Squad, as well as some other neat comic book stuff.
Hazard Squad Weapons Pack – Keep your armory stocked with a Mass-Disruptor Cannon, Strike Rifles, Shock Grenades, Zip Blade, and much more. You can never be too prepared…
Rumble Society Mini Bat – It’s always skull-crushin’ time when you play ball with the Rumble Society! This 14” long bat replica is made of real wood and features the Rumble Society logo. It’s not regulation, but nothing about the Rumble Society ever is…
Stinkle Crew Mez-Itz – The Stinkle Crew is the blood life of the neighborhood. From running numbers and rigging domino games to stirring up at a block party, these little punks are bad news and good fun! Complete with a removable baseball cap and a baseball bat that he can hold, Stinkles operate the street!
1:12 Scale Sucker Punch Pizza Pie – Extra cheese, please! This 1:12 scale pizza pie comes with a removable slice that can be held by most One:12 Collective figures and a real 1:12 scaled pizza box – grease stain not included.
Grubway Token – A throwback to the days when you had to load your pockets with non-electronic stuff, like subway tokens! This little hunk of metal might be worth something so probably best you hold onto it.
Commander Gomez Sticker – stick it to ‘em with this Commander Gomez sticker and rep the Hazard Squad!
Gomez & Friends Window Cling – they kick ass and cling to glass! Spice up your window, mirror, glass display cabinet or let other drivers know there’s a Grub onboard. Sometimes it’s OK to be clingy.

Fans looking to score this special limited edition $150 Bodega Box can pre-order it here, but if it is anything like the last few specialty boxes from Mezco, you will definitely want to act fast. The box is expected to ship between December 2020-January 2021, but those estimates can change and arrive earlier in some cases.
As a lifelong New Yorker, I truly appreciate the work that Mezco put into this boxset, and hopefully, I can score one. What do you think of the Bodega Box? Will you be adding it to your Mezco collection? Let us know in the comments.
