My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising Arrives on Blu-ray & DVD Later This Month

While My Hero Academia has not aired new episodes in the US, fans can still get their fix of Deku, Bakugo, All-Might, and the rest of the heroes courtesy of My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising, which arrives on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital Download on October 27th. The film will include both dubbed and subtitled versions and will be available at the Funimation Shop and select retailers. Right Stuff Anime, Best Buy, and Walmart will have its own retailer exclusive special editions. Fans that purchase the film directly from Funimation will get a 25th-anniversary chrome All Might Funko POP! figure, so if you're a Funko POP! collector, you will not want to miss out on that bonus.

If you missed the film in theaters here is a brief plot synopsis so you can know what to expect. Class 1-A visits Nabu Island where they finally get to do some real hero work. The place is so peaceful that it’s more like a vacation … until they’re attacked by a villain with an unfathomable Quirk! His power is eerily familiar, and it looks like Shigaraki had a hand in the plan. But with All Might retired and citizens’ lives on the line, there’s no time for questions. Deku and his friends are the next generation of heroes, and they’re the island’s only hope.

My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising was released earlier this year in U.S. theaters and had a great showing at the box office earning over $13 million and securing the #8 spot on the highest-grossing anime films of all time released in the U.S. Will you be adding the Blu-ray to your anime collection? Let us know in the comments.
