Scream needed to be on this list sooner rather than later. Scream brought the slasher film genre back to life after a long string of box office failures. Wes Craven took a radically different approach towards giving horror fans something different and fresh. The best part of this film and its sequels was the fact that they didn’t take themselves too seriously but strived to appease horror fans. From the establishment of the “rules” to the unexpected twist at the end of the first film horror fans never knew what was coming. If you have not seen the the Scream series then you need to get on it ASAP.
