We move from May to June with a fresh installment of New Releases This Week. There is plenty to choose from in the gaming arena. Movies are kind of light this week but both have some big titles to look forward to. Starting with games, Fighter fans have something to look forward to. Before we get to that, let's begin at the beginning.
Star Trek: Bridge Crew
Star Trek: Bridge Crew was developed specifically for virtual reality and capitalizes on the powerful sense of social presence possible only through VR. Our hand tracking with full body avatars and real-time lip sync allow players to genuinely experience what it’s like to serve as an officer on the bridge of a Federation starship.
Make strategic decisions and coordinate actions with your crew to complete the mission. In co-op, players can form a crew of four to serve in the roles of Captain, Helm, Tactical and Engineer. Each player is crucial to the success of the varied missions you face and the safety of your crew and ship.
Take command of the U.S.S. Aegis, the first ship of her kind. Whether plotting courses and analyzing scan data or hacking enemy shields and targeting vulnerable ship subsystems, you’ll have Starfleet’s cutting-edge technology at your fingertips. The Aegis’ unique design makes her ideal for the dangerous mission in The Trench but you’ll have to master her systems, both familiar and experimental, to save the day.
Star Trek: Bridge Crew offers a compelling and engaging co-op experience with an unmatched sense of reality. You’ll need more than just individual skill to overcome the challenges you’ll face with one another; communication, trust and close crew coordination are the keys to victory. In addition to a dynamic storyline, Star Trek: Bridge Crew features an “Ongoing Missions” mode, procedurally generating missions for countless hours of solo and co-op adventure.

Regardless, you will need the young survivor on your side. Your hard choices will all culminate in the season finale, “From the Gallows.”
R.A.G.E. Works will have a full review on this season coming this weekend. If you missed any of the episodes or want to watch the season in full, there is a playthrough of the season here, provided by Slick with commentary.

Oh…Sir! The Insult Simulator
The parrot is back from the dead bringing countless new insults for your disposal, Sir! Remember that silly game that parted lovers, destroyed families and turned friends into enemies? Here’s its successor that does even more, certainly with more style and more variety. And I have proof! This time you can spread affront to everyone in the world that has Internet access or – if you’re not the most sociable – you can sit alone and play with yourself. Nudge nudge.
So don’t let the parrot die for nothing and tell that grumpy old lady that her husband donated organs for a strange woman lying in a pond and that her sister poses nude for some dog. Then meet a retired hipster who admires pictures of a grunting sow, and a fake Russian who borrowed a dead body to put his teacup and crumpets on. It’s also the only game that lets you learn what’s The Meaning of Life, and that’s scientifically proven!

Shu (PS Vita Version)
Control Shu and a colorful trail of hand-drawn characters as they run, jump and glide their way up an ancient mountain, forever pursued by a monstrous and unrelenting storm.
Can you outrun the end of the world?
There once was a wildly prosperous land named Ys, ruled by the twin Goddesses Reah and Feena and their six priestly retainers. It was a veritable paradise, with all its residents able to enact miracles at will through the use of magic – a power granted them by a holy artifact known as the Black Pearl.
One day, without warning, enormous demons marched upon the land, bringing death and devastation in their wake. Their numbers and their might were too much for the knights and sorcerers of Ys to handle, so the people sought shelter within their holiest of temples at the top of the tallest mountain. In a desperate attempt to keep these people safe, the twin Goddesses used the power of the Black Pearl to tear this temple from the ground and raise it into the heavens, away from the ever-growing threat below.
The demons were determined, however. They erected an enormous tower from which further attacks were launched, bringing the battle into the skies. An all-out war had begun, with forces concentrated in Solomon Shrine above and the Devil's Tower below.
And it was amidst this chaos that the twin Goddesses stole away into the night. No one was told of their departure – not even the Six Priests who served them. It seemed clear that they'd gone back to the surface, but no one knew exactly why. Only one thing was certain: Without the Goddesses, Ys could not survive.
Intent on finding their missing deities, the Six Priests organized a search party of the most elite knights and sorcerers in the land. These soldiers were given a single mission: Secure the safety of Ladies Reah and Feena, and bring them back to Solomon Shrine alive and well.
But in the desolate, ruined remains of Ys, there's only one place they could have gone…
The Devil's Tower itself.

Whew! Everytime I thought that I was done with gaming, I found another one this week. Movies, not so much. New Releases This Week moves on to film entertainment. We have the pick of the week coming up, but first we look at home releases.
After a robbery goes awry, a young man (Nicholas Hoult) must call on his drug-smuggling former boss (Ben Kingsley) to protect his girlfriend (Felicity Jones) from mobsters who want to kill both of them and retrieve their cargo.
After a loving father (Sam Worthington) endures a family tragedy that rocks him to his core, he receives a mysterious invitation to “The Shack,” a decrepit shelter where an unimaginable horror once took place. But, much to his surprise, his visit prompts a divine intervention from a series of strangers (Octavia Spencer, Graham Greene, Avraham Aviv Alush, and Sumire Matsubara), and the group soon lead him on a theological inquiry in the hope of getting him unstuck from his grief by reminding him of the all-encompassing love of God. Based on the best-selling allegorical novel by William Paul Young.
Before I Fall
A popular, selfish high schooler (Zoey Deutch) keeps reliving the same day over and over again, which ends with her and her friends getting into a fatal car accident. In time, she must learn how to prevent the accident while becoming a better, kinder person to those around her.
On the last day before summer vacation at a rough-and-tumble high school, mild-mannered teacher Andy Campbell (Charlie Day) accidentally causes his fearsome colleague Ron Strickland (Ice Cube) to be fired. When Strickland then challenges him to a fist fight after school, Campbell must find a way to avoid a vicious beating.
Wonder Woman (Slick's Pick of the Week)
Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers… and her true destiny.
