Developer Dynamighty has put a smile on this gamer’s face today. I am a big fan of old school arcade games. As such, I have been a big fan of (PSN/XBLA) titles like Strider, Shadow Complex, Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken and ‘Splosion Man, to name a few. This August, Sony and Dynamighty are bringing us a new IP in the same vein as these classics. Prepare to save the world as you quietly move across all PlayStation and mobile devices. Counterspy looks to bring you the next generation of espionage, even if you do not own a PS4.
The role of a spy has always been portrayed to us in a way that two elements were always paramount: stealth and the use of cool gadgets. In Counterspy, you are a faceless agent of rogue spy agency, C.O.U.N.T.E.R. Your mission is to stop the military of a foreign superpower from destroying the moon with nuclear weapons. It may sound like a daunting task until you realize that you can carry your game across all current PlayStation consoles (PS4, PS3, Vita) and even pick it up on your mobile devices. While you must fight alone, you do have friends. If you rescue a downed agent (aka your friend who got killed) you will receive special rewards. Counterspy also looks to retain that “new car smell” with procedurally generated gameplay for a different experience every time you pick it up.
