The game that was originally introduced to us as Final Fantasy Versus XIII for the PlayStation 3 is now under development for current-generation consoles. Having been re-dubbed Final Fantasy XV, a game that is over nine years in the making had better blow our socks off lest it become the nest Duke Nukem Forever fiasco. Square Enix has given us glimpses into both the story and gameplay this year and things do look promising but they still seem to be keeping much of the details under wraps. There is still no release date and the details presented at Gamescom are scarce. The new trailer titled “Dawn,” looks absolutely beautiful, but even a longtime Final Fantasy fanatic like myself sat there wondering “how long is he gonna hug this kid?” If random stray dogs, implied rape and an awful lot of hugging are your idea of an exciting trailer then the “Dawn” trailer for Final Fantasy XV is going to knock your socks off.
