Suda 51 made a frog splash yesterday as he announced the return of Fire Pro Wrestling after a twelve year hiatus. The new game, titled “Fire Pro Wrestling World” is slated for a second quarter 2017 release and it is coming to Steam and PS4. 2K needs to take notice because realistic graphics are not what put you at the top of the video game wrestling world.
The data sheet from Spike Chunsoft promises online play featuring standard matches, tournaments, leagues, championship matches and battle royals. The rules are adjustable so you can have your own insane backyard-style matches and introduce painful elements like steel cages, barbed wire ring ropes and even land mines! Create a wrestler will be in place to give your personal brawlers their own signature look. You can also create your ring, the mat, logos, etc.
Also promised is AI that lives up to today's standard for the matches you play alone. Suda 51 wants to take the title back in 2017 and it looks like he is in good standing to do so! Fire Pro Wrestling World is slated for a Q2 2017 launch on PC and PS4. Stay tuned for more details as they surface!
