This Saturday is HurriCon and while you're probably saying “oh no another con” I can say that this one is substantially different. How so? Glad you asked! This convention is being done as a benefit to help raise funds for the Bethany Congregational Church which sustained damage from Superstorm Sandy. If you are NYC resident and were affected by Superstorm Sandy then you know the road to recovery has been long and arduous and for some, it is still in progress. The church as a huge part of the recovery efforts post-Sandy offering food, clothing and other supplies to those in need. In the midst of that help the sustained damages to their floors both from the storm and from the increased foot traffic that occurred while helping their community. All proceeds from the event are going back to the church to help offset repair cost to their gymnasium which served as a ground zero for their relief efforts.

This weekend's convention will not only be a good place to score some comics, get some art and buy some collectibles but your ticket purchase will go towards helping people and that is what being hero is all about in the end. Right? Let's get to the details on how you can attend this event.
