Kicking off Comic Con @ Home, Sega launched pre-orders for Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Along with the announcement came the debut of the game’s new “Heroes of Tomorrow” trailer. Check out the explosive, dynamic RPG gameplay of protagonist Ichiban Kasuga and his ragtag party. Ever want to see a group of middle-aged “heroes” battle massive construction vehicles? Had the urge to take down thugs with an uppercut from a facial wand, or summon a tempest of pigeons? Yakuza: Like a Dragon has you covered because it’s like no other RPG before it.

Also revealed today is the English voice cast which features, among many talented actors, none other than George Takei. George Takei plays the role of Masumi Arakawa, a powerful patriarch who dissolves the Tojo Clan. This sets into motion the conflict at the heart of this complex, winding narrative. The game will also feature full EFIGS subtitle support.
The Most Heavily Supported Yakuza Title to Date!
SEGA also announced today that Yakuza: Like a Dragon will launch on PlayStation 5 in the West. This adds to the previously announced Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Windows, PS4 and Steam releases. Previously, Microsoft announced support for Xbox Series X Smart Delivery, ensuring players only have to buy the game once. Xbox owners will be able to play the game whether they have the current or next-gen console. A PlayStation 5 upgrade path is also being planned for the Western release and will be announced at a later date.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon will be available On consoles and PC in November 2020. The Xbox Series X version will be a console launch title. The PlayStation 5 version will release at a later date. The previously announced Day One Edition will now be called the Day Ichi (“one” in Japanese) Edition. All digital stores have the game available for pre-order now. There are also available the Hero and Legendary Editions. These $69.99 and $89.99 digital bundles (respectively) include different levels of DLC. See your digital store of choice for details.
This Ain't Your Daddy's Yakuza
Yakuza: Like a Dragon will be a departure from the previous games. Yakuza 6 was the final title in the saga of Kazuma Kiryu. The new protagonist Ichiban Kasuga will face new challenges. The gameplay will now be in an RPG style but you can still expect the elements that defined the series. When you're not busy bashing heads, relax by hitting up the local arcade for some classic SEGA games. Compete with locals in a no holds barred go-kart race around Yokohama. Complete 50 unique substories, or just take in the scenery of a modern-day Japanese city. There’s always something new around the corner.
