1st Impression: To say I was unimpressed with the 1st trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog is an understatement. While the plot left much to be desired the biggest misstep was the overall look of Sonic and after severe fan, backlash Paramount when back to the lab and redid Sonic and the results are not only infinitely better but just make the film look a bit more promising.
It is not often that a studio actively responds to fan backlash and course corrects a project sacrificing revenue and spending more on the overall budget. While it is easy to say that the studio should have done it right the first time I respect them admitting their mistake and actively trying to remedy the situation. The most we as Sonic fans can do is give the movie a shot and see how it is.
I look forward to seeing the final product and I genuinely hope it succeeds and gives video game movies a win for once.
